L.A. by Day Exhibition

The L.A. by Day exhibition was held at the Earl McGrath Gallery in Los Angeles, California from September 1st to October 1st 2005. The show ran concurrently with L.A. by Night at the La Luz de Jesus Gallery in Los Angeles. This is the third solo exhibition of Shag’s work at the gallery following Before the Eviction in 2005 and People in the City in 2002.

The eleven acrylic and vinyl paint on wood panel paintings are shown below.

The show print for the L.A. by Day exhibition was the twelve-color serigraph West Coast Jazz, sized 24″ by 22″ and released in a limited edition of 250 copies. Note that this print was released in parallel at the L.A. by Day and L.A. by Night exhibitions at a price of $250 USD.

More interestingly, all of the original paintings in the pair of concurrent exhibitions is Los Angeles were also paired by day (at the L.A. by Day exhibition) and night (at the L.A. by Night exhibition), which is easier to see below.
