The Last Days of Magic Exhibition

Josh Agle held his first exhibition of 2009 at the M Modern Gallery in Palm Springs, California. The Last Days of Magic solo exhibition ran from February 13th to March 22nd 2009 and included twelve original paintings and eleven limited edition (mainly artist proof) serigraph prints.

The twelve acrylic paint on wood panel original paintings were created in late 2008 to early 2009 in preparation for this exhibition. The paintings are all themed on magic, from palm readers and voodoo dolls, to tarot and tea leaves. All twelve paintings include a Shag styled cat, one with bright orange eyes (Practical Magic). All of the pictures also feature mid-century modern settings, with rock walls and swimming pools. They also feature a striking white haired girl in all of the pictures, possibly the same girl? The paintings retailed for US$8,500.
