The 2022 group art events are below listed in chronological order.

A Very Cool Shag Experience
Palm Springs Modernism Week ran from 17-27 February with The Shag Store as a gold sponsor. Shag held a one-hour presentation called A Very Cool Shag Experience With Josh Agle at 3pm on Sunday 20 February at the 430-seat Annenberg Theater at the Palm Springs Art Museum, costing $18 with a free Le Purr print for all attendees. The fifth and final poster in the Modernism Week series by Shag was also available.

Fat Tuesday Mardi Gras Dinner
The Fat Tuesday Mardi Gras Dinner at Club 33 in Disneyland, California was held on March 1st 2022. The event featured the limited edition Mardi Gras Club 33 mug, as designed by Shag. The blue mug was produced in a limited edition of 2500 and cost $55 including drink. The gold mug was a limited edition of 500 mugs and a gift for club members.

Seven Magic Rooms Cocktail Reception
The Seven Magic Rooms Cocktail Reception was held at the exclusive clubhouse for magicians and magic enthusiasts, the Magic Castle in Los Angeles, California on March 15th 2022 from 8-10pm. The 17-color serigraph features the history and mystery of the LA institution and was available to members of the Magic Castle and their guests with those unable to attend provided with a secret code work to enable purchase.​ Shag shown with Milt Larsen below who features in the foreground of the print.

Wondercon 2022
Shag’s QittyQats NFTs were at Wondercon 2022 at the Anaheim Convention Center in California from 1-3 April 2022. The limited-edition print and NFTs (each in an edition size of 10) were sold at ECHO Labs on booth 1437 in the middle of Hall B.

CHG Selects
The CHG Selects show ran at the Corey Helford Gallery from 2nd April to 7th May alongside their Sixth Sense exhibition. The show includes Fresh Fish, an acrylic on panel original painting measuring 22″ x 15″ from the 2016 Jungle Drums exhibition at the same gallery. The original painting was priced at $12,000 which is the same price as it was back in 2016.

Homecoming, OA: The Tiki Revival
Peekaboo Gallery and Oceanic Arts ran a month-long series of events to celebrate OA’s 65-year legacy at OA’s warehouse in Whittier, California. The Aloha, OA! series was presented in association with The Whittier Historical Society and Museum.
The Homecoming, OA: The Tiki Revival event on Saturday, 9th April from 5 pm until midnight had exclusive access to Oceanic Arts, an immersive exhibit, Tikichella mini-music festival, roch n’ hula review, auction preview, cocktail bars from The Bamboo Club and Secret Island, Polynesian food vendors and a Dole Whip! Entertainment was provided by Creepxotica, The Hula Girls, The Ding Dong Devils, Jill Martini and the Shrunken Heads, CocoTiki and DJ Dr Nate. The three presentations during the event were:

• Paradise to Go! – The Art of Home Tiki Bars.
• The Hedonist World Of Tiki Cocktails and the Bars that Made them.
• Homecoming, OA! – A Salute to Oceanic Arts from the TIKI REVIVAL Community: A Deep Dive with Otto Von Stroheim, Baby Doe, Shag, Tiki Diablo and Christie “Tiki Kiliki” White, hosted by Sven Kirsten with Jordan Reichek.

Palms Pop-Up
The Shag Store held up a pop-up event at the grand re-opening of the Palms Resort and Casino from 9 pm until midnight on Wednesday 27th April. The free event featured live music from DJ Skyler Gilmore (resident DJ for the Golden Tiki) and complimentary Cocktails from both Brown Sugar Bourbon and Flecha Azul Tequila! Shag attended to personalize prints.

Arizona Tiki Oasis
Arizona Tiki Oasis was held from April 26th to May 1st 2022. The pop up store at 2pm on Saturday 30th in Presidential Suite 500 at the Hotel Valley Ho included the official release of The Hunt for Halulu print, the special edition Fugu clock and a few older tiki mugs.

Oasis Music Festival Grand Opening
Shag created the “The Instrumentalist” image to be used on the Oasis Music Festival commemorative poster. The inaugural Oasis Music Festival was a citywide music event held in Palm Springs, May 11-15, 2022. Shag attended the grand opening and signed posters and books at The Plaza Theater in between performances. The Oasis Music Festival 2022 Commemorative Poster was available for $25.

Tiki Caliente 13
Tiki Caliente 13 is held on 12-15 May 2022 at the Caliente Tropics Resort in Palm Springs in California. The Shag Store is a sponsor for the event and Sahg is present at an Exotica Moderne magazine signing on Saturday, May 14th. The prints Dark Idol and Clam Digger were released at the event.

San Diego Comic-Con 2022
San Diego Comic-Con 2022 was held 21-24 July at the San Diego Conference Center in San Diego, California. The event included the release of Batcave Breach, The Drop In and The Huna Mask (a comic-con exclusive).

Tiki Oasis 2022
Tiki Oasis was held on 3-7 August at the Bali Hai & Crowne Plaza, San Diego, California. The Shag Store pop-up booth was present at the Town and Country Resort ballroom lobby on Saturday, August 6th from noon to 2 pm. The 3-color serigraph Witco Warrior was released in a limited edition of 100, sized 8″ by 10″ for $200. The event also saw the release of Shag 600 Jackets, limited to 200 in each of two colorways. These lightweight island-style blazers are constructed from 100% cotton poplin with a full satin liner and are available in men’s sizes from 38 to 52 at $375.

D23 Expo 2022
D23 Expo 2022 was held at the Anaheim Convention Center from Friday 9^th to Sunday 11^th September 2022.

Shag attended a signing for the new release of 999 Happy Haunts on Friday 9th September at 2 pm in the Cyclops Print Works booth. The exclusive D23 launch of 999 Happy Haunts (green ghost variant) measures 21.5” x 35”, costs $599 and is a 17-color serigraph in a limited edition of 200 copies. A colorway of 200 prints will be released in November at the Shag Store.

Shag also attended the Its a Small Disney World: Celebrating the Art of Disney Parks artists panel and symposium at 1:45 pm on the Hyperion stage on Saturday 10th September. The panel was moderated by Tyler Slater, Public Relations Manager, and gathered Disney Parks artists and authors who created artwork for Disney’s global parks, including items that were for sale at the D23 Expo Marketplace.

The third and final Shag appearance was for The Magic Panorama print signing and meet-and-greet at 4:15 pm at the Convention Center Talent Central on the Hyperion stage on Saturday 10th September. The print was called The Hub at release and measures 20” x 10″ for the deluxe art print (open edition – $44.99) and 26” x 9” for the framed canvas print (limited edition of 295 prints – $399). The Disneyland Hub is shown with iconic park attractions including the Walt and Mickey Partners statue, Sleeping Beauty Castle, Matterhorn, Big Thunder Mountain, The Haunted Mansion, Omnibus, Dapper Dans, and more. The deluxe art print is on luster paper with a double paper matte. The recycled black wood frame for the canvas print has a hidden Mickey filigree and a linen-wrapped wood liner.

Circa Caliente
Circa Caliente is a four-day celebration of the 1950’s through to the 1980’s held at the Caliente Tropics Resort in Palm Springs from October 13-16, 2022. The three-colour serigraph The Enchantress was released on October 15 and is the third and final print in the Dark Witco series. The print is in a limited edition of 100, measures 8″ by 10″, and retailed for $200.

Tall Tiki Tales: Catalina as a South Seas Island
The Catalina Museum for Art & History held the Tall Tiki Tales: Catalina as a South Sea Island exhibition from October 22, 2022 to September 3, 2023. Curated by author, tiki scholar and cinematographer Sven Kirsten, this exhibition tracks Catalina Island’s contribution (as a film set) to the evolution of tiki culture. Shag designed the 18” by 24” poster for the exhibition which was available for $34.95.

Googie World Expo
Googie World Expo was held at Valley Relics Museum in Van Nuys, California on November 13, 2022. The event is a two-day celebration of mid-century modern architecture and design. The first event on Sunday, November 13 at the Valley Relics Museum, included speakers, vendors, book signings and an exhibition. Shag was present to sign posters from 3:30 to 4:30 pm. The second event is on Sunday, November 20 as a guided coach tour of the iconic landmarks of architects Armet Davis Newlove who are celebrating their 75th anniversary.  The Googie World Expo posters were $25 and limited in quantity.

DesignerCon 2022
DesignCon was held on November 18-20 2022 at the Anaheim convention center in California with the Shag Store at booth 3022. The event featured the releases of Kahiko, Lapu & Tutua wall masks, The Bad Apple print, the 999 Happy Haunts print (blue ghost variant) and the BE@RBRICK ARTIST series 4 five-pack. Shag was present at the Shag Store booth to sign items from 7-8 pm on the 18th, 1-2 pm on the 19th and 1-2 pm on the 20th, plus 5-6 pm on the 19th at the Medicom Toy Booth for the new Be@rbricks.

Shag Wedding Belle Event
The Shag Wedding Belle Event was held at the Harveys Store in Santa Ana, California on Friday, December 2nd from 5 to 7 pm PST. Harveys celebrated its 25th anniversary with a collection inspired by Melanie and Dana Harvey’s Las Vegas wedding where Dana made a purse for Melanie’s wedding ensemble using the leftover seatbelt material from their 1950 Buick. Josh Agle collaborated with them to recreate the event on an array of bags and merchandise. The collection was subsequently released on the Harveys’ website on Monday, December 6th at 8 am PST.
The Wedding Belle event featured cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, an Elvis impersonator, a raffle and a roulette table. The first 100 customers who purchased $200 or more of the Wedding Belle collection received an exclusive VIP gift package containing a VIP Lanyard with badge, custom Harveys poker chip, a 25th Anniversary Mulberry Keychain, and Mulberry monogram Shopper Tote. The one-of-a-kind orange tote was the prize for the raffle.
