Other 2020 Group Shows

This page is for all 2020 group art shows not covered under existing posts. This post will be updated throughout the year as new shows are announced and take place. If you have information on new shows or pictures from current shows then please send me an e-mail so I can update the information. Note that Shag Store events are listed separately.

The 2020 group art events are below listed in chronological order.

Sunset Cocktail Party
The Sunset Cocktail Party was held from 3 pm to 5 pm at the 1961 Morse residence (1197 Abrigo Road, Palm Springs,) on Wednesday, February 19th, during Palm Springs Modernism Week. The event was hosted at the Hal Levitt designed landmark 1961 Vista Las Palmas residence by Joan and Gary Gand. Each attendee received a Harbor Happening limited edition giclée by Shag. This image for this print measures 10″ by 10″ with a paper size of 12″ by 12″. Tickets cost $125 and Shag also donated a signed print, The Imposter depicting a cocktail party at the Morse residence.

The event was a fundraiser for Preserve Orange County’s preservation effort to save the iconic former Stuft Shirt restaurant building, and nominate it to the National Register of Historic Places. The Stuft Shirt, designed in 1961 by Ladd & Kelsey (architects of Pasadena’s Norton Simon Museum and the LaVerne Methodist Church featured in the final scene of The Graduate), is a buoyant thin-shell concrete structure that captures the pleasures of Southern California Midcentury living.
