In 1999, the world population surpassed six billion, the Millennium Dome opened (just in time) in London, and Josh Agle took part in three group art shows.

Uncommercial Art By Commercial Artists
The Uncommercial Art By Commercial Artists was held at the La Luz de Jesus Gallery in Los Angeles, California from 5^th to the 28^th March 1999. This second annual juried group art invitation invited commercial illustrators to submit work of a more personal nature. Josh Agle contributed one of the one hundred and fifty works shown, Harlequin with Weapons (sized 15″x 19″)?

KROQ Weenie Roast & Luau
KROQ’s annual Weenie Roast benefit concert in 1999 had over 15,000 attendees and raised money for the local anti-gang organization Homeboy Industries. The 1999 KROQ Weenie Roast & Luau was held at the Irvine Meadows Amphitheatre in Irvine, California on June 19^th. Shag provided the artwork used for the brochure, t-shirt, and passes.

Edgar Leeteg Tribute Show
The Edgar Leeteg Tribute Show ran at the Copro/Nason Gallery in Culver City, California from December 4^th 1999 to February 28^th 2000. This was the inaugural exhibition of the newly opened gallery and paid homage to artist Edgar Leeteg, who painted Polynesian figures on black velvet. Josh Agle painted The Black Velvet Painter showing Leeteg at his easel next to a sarong-clad vahine model. The painting was re-created as Shag’s first serigraph print (ganged with The Definitive Retrospective print). The Leeteg Tribute print was created in a limited edition of 299 copies (plus 15 artist proofs and 15 printer proofs). The print measures 18.5” by 23.5” and is hand signed and numbered.
